Members of our Beth El family come from a variety of different backgrounds and life experiences, and we consider that to be one of our greatest strengths and sources of pride! At Beth El Congregation, Jews by choice are equal in every regard as Jews by birth. They are treated as such, quickly being welcomed in and made to feel at home by our warm and inclusive congregation.
Your Jewish Journey
In addition to individual study with Rabbi Mathew Marko, our conversion candidates are connected with synagogue buddies, who can help translate their personal learning into practical and meaningful engagement with Jewish life.
We are committed to ensuring that everyone on their Jewish journey knows that they are supported and loved, and that a wide array of resources, from Shabbat dinners to books and social events, are always available to anyone who needs them.
Miller Introduction to Judaism
Born Jewish and want to know more?
Sharing your life with a Jew and want to “crack the code”?
Interested in learning for the sake of learning or possible conversion to Judaism?
ALL are welcome (Reform, Conservative, Orthodox, unaffiliated, Jew-curious, and
everyone in between) to join this exciting 18-week course.
Inspire new traditions. Discover your community.
For more than 30 years, Miller Introduction to Judaism of the American Jewish
University has been the nation’s leading center for welcoming those seeking to
convert to Judaism, interfaith couples, and anyone wanting to learn more and find
a home in the Jewish community.
Together we will explore such topics as basic Jewish literacy, history, tradition,
denominational Judaism, the modern State of Israel, Jewish mysticism (Kabbala),
customs, ethics, culture, and wisdom in a setting where questions are more
important than answers. Classes are interactive, relaxed, engaging and fun.
Wherever you come from. Wherever you are going. Your Jewish journey begins or renews here.
Please contact Rabbi Marko at 330364-2105×114 to let him know if you are interested or if you have any questions. Classes will begin in late October.
