Vel Scott
Co- creator of Vel’s Purple Oasis Garden in Cleveland. Vel, a chef and teacher of “Global Soul Cuisine,” is dedicated to bringing healthier foods to inner city neighborhoods.
Damon Jones
Former horticulturist at Fairlawn Country Club, will also share his experience designing and planting “Marvin’s Garden” on a vacant lot on Marvin Avenue in Akron, minutes from Beth El. Damon, along with 17 families from neighboring streets, contribute time, funds andseeds to cultivate fresh produce and a sense of community.
A Kiddush luncheon sponsored by Sisterhood and our Gan haOh will follow services.
